Description
DALI-2 ROT D2 – Rotary Input Device (Instance Mode)
The DALI-2 ROT D2 is a rotary input device for DALI and DALI-2 lighting systems, designed for integration into central control and automation platforms.
It operates in DALI-2 Instance mode, generating standardized event messages instead of sending direct DALI commands.
User interaction is performed via a rotary knob with integrated pushbutton, allowing intuitive input for dimming and switching actions.
All rotary and push events are transmitted as DALI-2 input notifications and processed by higher-level systems such as KNX gateways, WAGO, Beckhoff or BMS controllers.
DALI-2 Instance functionality
In Instance mode, the device acts as a flexible user interface rather than a standalone controller.
This enables custom logic, scenes and automation workflows to be defined at system level.
- Rotary movement events (clockwise / counter-clockwise)
- Pushbutton events: short press, long press, double press and repeat
- Event-based control compliant with IEC 62386 (DALI-2)
Versions and installation
- 86459822-D2 – Version for European back boxes (60 mm screw spacing)
- 86459822-D2-CH – Version for Swiss back boxes (52 mm screw spacing)
- -PS variants – With integrated 70 mA DALI bus power supply
The -PS versions are recommended for small or standalone DALI installations,
as they remove the need for an external DALI power supply.
